Gemma qualified as a registered Nutritional Therapist from the Institute of Optimum Nutrition. She is a registered with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). She also has a degree in natural sciences and a masters in biochemistry.
Gemma’s approach to wellness is aligned to functional medicine: Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, she works holistically to identify and address any underlying imbalances that may be contributing to your health concerns. Reviewing your completed health questionnaire and food diary, and hearing your unique health story from the beginning, means she can piece together which systems in your body need support. She may also recommend functional testing from leading private providers to further clarify what is going on beneath the surface.
Gemma is passionate about helping her clients make sustainable changes to their diet and lifestyle that will promote health and wellbeing. Through researching your case, she will be able to provide personalised, evidence-informed advice as to what changes could benefit you. The wellness plans you devise together should fit with your day to day routines and personal circumstances, to give you the greatest chance of success. Gemma can also provide coaching support in between consultations, to keep you on track to reach your health goals.
Gemma goes to go to regular training events to improve her skills as a therapist and keep up-to-date with the latest research and developments in nutritional medicine.
