What is it?

This is a wonderfully relaxing therapy, which relieves tension in the scalp, face and shoulders- a true stress buster. It involve massage of the head, face, upper back, neck and shoulders in a seated, upright position. It can help rid one of aches, pains and stress symptoms, promotes healthy hair growth, soothe, comfort and re-balance your skin, whilst giving you a deep sense of calm and tranquility.

The History

Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient Indian healing system called Ayurveda. It has been practised in India for thousands of years, originally by women grooming themselves, keeping their hair healthy, thick and in beautiful condition. Massaging the scalp stimulates circulation thus increasing blood supply and nourishment to the hair follicles( roots). To increase relaxation and the aspects of tranquility the face, neck, and upper back are also incorporated into the session.
